Voice of America and International Broadcasting Bureau Philippines hold promotion with Davao affiliate, DXOW

On November 2, 2004 Voice of America affiliate representatives from the International Broadcasting Bureau Philippines Transmitting Station visited the Davao affiliate, DXOW. This promotional event had been advertised to listeners the preceding ten days via DXOW broadcast on 981 kHz AM. The advertisements included information on how to participate and receive promotional gifts, especially the first 50 arrivals in Halloween costumes to receive gifts. Listeners began arriving around 12:30 PM and the passing out gifts occurred from 1:00 to 2:00PM. A good time was had by all in this activity to increase public awareness of VOA News Now scheduled broadcast on DXOW 981 kHz AM.

This promotional continued the next day in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy Manila Election Coverage program held at the Marco Polo Hotel. The VOA Affiliates’ booth received many visitors, gifts were passed out, and the VOA Affiliates program, as well as, DXOW 981 kHz AM was well advertised.
