US Department of Justice Trains Davao's PNP

The United States Department of Justice International Criminal Investigation Training and Assistance Program conducted two investigative training courses in Davao City, Philippines. More than 100 Philippine National Police, joined by members of the Omsbudsman's Office and the Trans-National Criminal Investigative Group, participated in Crime Scene Specialist and Criminal Investigation training programs. The training focused on the following areas:

• Preservation of the Crime Scene;
• Location and Identification of Evidence;
• Evidence Documentation and Collection;
• Interview techniques;
• and, Courtroom Testimony and Evidence Presentation.

The courses continued the professional development of the officers with the goal of providing essential skills that will lead to successful investigations of criminal events.
